VISION STATEMENT

Glades Middle School’s vision statement encompasses a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment developed through interdisciplinary planning, that will engage the learning styles of all students by infusing technology throughout the curriculum.

MISSION STATEMENT

Glades Middle School’s mission statement is to empower students with critical thinking skills so that they are prepared for lifelong learning and stresses the values of creativity, innovation, and experimentation. Thus, providing the students with the tools needed to succeed in a highly technological world and become productive members of society.

Next time you see Mr. Siles be sure to tell him Thanks for the cool Everglades mural on our school's front wall. That is right folks, we have an artist extraordinaire as our assistant principal, Mr. Siles is the solo artist who on his own time came out during the summer to paint that great mural.

Glades Middle School will be participating in the annual “Hope Tote” collection drive sponsored by the Miami Rescue Mission; a local organization that has been helping the homeless population of our community since 1922. Your contribution to the event is simple.

Each Advisement will receive a “Hope Tote” purple bag. Each bag needs to be filled with the items listed below:

What Goes Into A Hope Tote?
Toothpaste Toothbrush Soap Shampoo	Deodorant New Underwear New Socks Disposable Razors	Diapers Baby Wipes Sanitary Napkins Lotion, etc.

Mrs. Villalobos’ Advisement students will distribute and collect the bags. Our drive will begin Tuesday, March 4, 2008, and ends Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Please do not collect any items on the days of FCAT testing: March 11, 12, 17, and 18.

Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated. This is a small act of kindness that gives a whole lot of hope to the less fortunate in our community. Thank you in advance.
